Refusing to accept market standard with vRealize

Benchmarks are critical to understand where you are in all walks of life. While progress and success are relative, knowing where you are in relation to others, whether they’re fellow students, industry competitors or business peers, helps gauge development and think about where you need to go next.

That’s not to say that you should accept standard. A benchmark, or market standard, may be three days to provision an environment for developers to create new revenue driving applications. Yet if you operate in a space with digital-first disruptors, or customers that expect innovation and new initiatives within hours of requesting them, three days may not be fast enough. That’s certainly been the case for Amdocs, the global leader in customer experience solutions. It shortened time to market by deploying private cloud on a large scale, relying on VMware’s software-defined-datacentre architecture, which was managed through vRealize Operations.

When dealing with complex cloud environments, being able to manage the entire platform, from monitoring and performance to planning and capacity optimisation, is absolutely critical to get the most from the investment. As Simon Eady said in a blog post earlier this year:

‘With the ever-increasing complexity of business IT, effective monitoring of your IT infrastructure is an absolute must. It is often neglected though due to budget constraints or lack of interest, but can very quickly become a priority when a serious issue occurs.’

To hear more about how Amdocs has delivered business impact through technology innovation, take a look at this video featuring Golan Remi, head of global business technologies at Amdocs IT:

The vRealize suite of tools can support you to ensure that your IT infrastructure is running optimally, freeing up resource to focus on other priorities, such as improving speed to market, as Amdocs did.
