Thales is a global organisation with operations on all continents serving major markets, all of them of vital importance for our societies: space, transportation, defence and security. It provides critical systems around the world that enable its customers to gain agility, think smarter and act faster.

Thales has successfully used VMware solutions across its business for many years. In the field of outsourcing, it produces private clouds with VMware which contain defense information – a key business activity for the Thales Group. Its engineers benefit from the VMware platform too as it enables them to rapidly receive IT infrastructure, representing a time-saving of months. With VMware Horizon View, Thales is providing its partners and subcontractors with a secure connection to its internal network. This solution has also enabled Thales to deploy a large number of virtual workstations in minimal time while its security features comply seamlessly with the company’s strong authentication policy and has proved very resistant to intrusion tests. Thales also uses VMware NSX across its platforms to meet strong security constraints thanks to micro-segmentation.

With such stable VMware solutions, the cost of ownership is well controlled and the financial gains are verified over time.  The next step for Thales is to develop the partnership for current and future clients by deploying the cloud management platform.
