At the end of 2017, I had the opportunity to join Fujitsu, one of our OEM partners, at the Fujitsu Forum 2017. At the event, I talked about why businesses are going digital and why they need to accelerate their transformation, before looking at how the three outcomes detailed above can be achieved by focusing on the strategic IT priorities. I also discussed how VMware and Fujitsu are working together to help customers, building on the announcement of our extended global partnership earlier in the year. If you couldn’t make it, you can take a look at me in action in the video below:

Six months later, and we’re supporting Fujitsu again on its World Tour. What’s been interesting is seeing how things have evolved since I spoke in November. We’re still talking about digital transformation, of course, because that’s the goal of our customers; or rather, that’s how they know they can reach their goals of nimble innovation, better ways of working, inventive business models and new customer experiences.

So, the conversation around why they’re doing it is the same, but the conversation on how it’s being achieved is evolving. 2018 has been the year, so far, of the multi-cloud – what it means, how it can be managed and how customers harness multiple cloud environments to best support their digital transformation goals.

At VMware, we’re focused on how we support organisations to drive digitisation. To that end, we need to work with our partners to provide the right solutions for our customers. A case in point is our work with Fujitsu on integrating Fujitsu Primeflex with VMware vSAN. Amongst its other benefits to customers is the ability to build a digital foundation that extends to the public cloud, including VMware Cloud on AWS – exactly the sort of service customers using multiple environments need.

To find out more, you’ll need to come along to one of Fujitsu’s World Tour stops. We’re hosting breakout sessions at the stops in Brussels on 7th June, and London on 12th July. For those on the other side of the pond, there’s also a World Tour event in NYC on 30th May. Find out more at the Fujitsu World Tour site.
