DISCLAIMER: this article is older than one year and may not be up to date with recent events or newly available information.

Events are fantastic places to network, hear about the latest innovations and just generally get a feel for what a broad cross-section of the industry are looking forward to, worried about or, focusing on in the future.

However, some events are less dynamic than others. There will be a standard exhibition hall, various presentations… But ultimately a lot of them boil down to standing or sitting around and listening.

At VMware, we want to do things a bit differently. From day one we’ve wanted to have events that are as much about getting your hands dirty as they are about hearing new things. We also know that time out of the office is becoming harder to get approved – if you attend something, you want something tangible in return.

That’s why we invest so much in our Hands-on-Labs – practitioners can get to grips with the latest technology, and they can also take the opportunity to get their certifications up to date or receive training on new solutions.

This year’s VMworld Europe continues that ethos, and ramps it up, with the broadest range of Hands-on-Labs and training opportunities that we’ve ever put on. Attendees get access to the latest VMware technologies without being required to purchase equipment, software or licenses – simply book in, turn up and away you go!

There’s a choice of expert-led or self-paced labs. For self-paced labs, attendees can stop by the Hands-on-Labs area at any time and take any lab we offer, with experts in the room that can answer any questions you may have.

Our expert-led labs and workshops do require you to register in advance – and they fill up fast! Use the Schedule Builder to get your seat booked.

Each of the labs fit into a specific track, broken down into:

  • Cloud – from private, hybrid and public clouds to virtualized infrastructure and hyper-converged infrastructures, the Cloud Hands-on-Lab track is a fantastic opportunity to get to grips with the latest in cloud computing, with sessions such as Automate IT – Hybrid Cloud and Modernize Infrastructure led by leading VMware experts.
  • Digital Workspace – with VMware’s Horizon and Workspace ONE changing the way enterprises empower their employees, these sessions promise a deeper dive into the technical aspects of delivering the workplaces organizations need in the digital era. There’s sessions for every level of experience, from VMware Workspace ONE – Getting Started to VMware Horizon 7 Enterprise – Advanced.
  • Network & Security – With high profile breaches regularly making the news, security remains a high priority for IT. Eighteen dedicated network and security sessions will ensure that anyone with a responsibility for security comes away understanding how VMware can help, whether it’s knowing how to Secure Datacenter Endpoints with VMware AppDefense or starting out with VMware NSX Cloud – Getting Started.

We also run an extensive training and certification program during VMworld. It’s designed to hone your knowledge of the latest VMware technologies and solutions, and includes both instructor-led classes and online and video training. The onsite certification exam center provides a convenient way to recertify or earn a new VMware Certification, while saving up to 50% in some instances.

They also come with special offers and discounts, from two-day instructor-led training sessions designed to prepare you for our most popular certifications (offered the weekend before VMworld), to 25% off a Premium Subscription to the VMware Learning Zone (our 24/7 training hub).

To make sure you book your place on our courses or Hands-on-Labs, register now. We’ve also got a full content catalog here to help start tailoring your VMworld experience.
